Animals
We have two
dogs and two cats of our own, and various other animals who
stay here at different times of the year.
Our dogs are Finnish Lapland Reindeer Herders -
Suomenlapinkoira -
members of the Spitz family.
These are medium sized (20 kilo) dogs which as the name implies are
bred to work, though they make equally good house dogs.
As they are bred to operate in sub-zero temperatures, they
are
triple-coated, which makes them unsuitable for hot climates.
On the left is Taika, and on the right
Santa. They
are cousins from the Nutukas
Kennel
in Finland. Taika is a year older.
