House
This is the new house, built around 1948-1950 on the site of the
previous mill, one of two mills here. Before that, the
building
now known as the mill was the residence as well.
This change in use seems to be associated with some
confusion in
the
administration, with the P&T quite happily delivering mail to
"Lameschmillen L-9696", a Winseler postcode, for the last 400 years,
while the Wiltz Commun insists our address is "120 rue Neuve L-9542",
which is a Wiltz postcode, and is technically incorrect anyway, as we
are not on rue Neuve, which ends some distance away.
The driving license and vehicle registration people insist
that
the
address on all documentation must be the same as the Commun records, on
pain of a $50 fine, while the Ordnance Survey maps show "Lameschmuhle",
and the Internet address "lameschmillen.lu" is reserved by the
Government because it is a village name, postcode L-9696.

I haven't made any attempt to get to the bottom of all this
and
regularize the situation, largely because I don't care, beyond being
slightly amused
